Save Money on Your Telephone Bills
Over 80% of all business phone bills are wrong, and 80% of those are wrong in the phone company's favor. The BIG mistake is typically in equipment or lines that you cancelled eons ago, but haven't been taken off your bill.
The second BIGGEST mistake is in equipment or lines you ordered but were never delivered for one reason or another. You can often get a sizable refund as a result. How big your refund will be will depend on your own records — how long you can prove you are owed money for — and on your own persuasive powers. You should do an inventory of your phone bills at least once a year.
Ask your telephone company business office how many telephone book listings you're paying for and what the listings are. Check out all your branches also. You'll be surprised what you are listed under and what your are not listed under. Listings cost money each month.Carefully check the installation charges on your telephone bill when you have new outside lines installed. They are often wrong. When you order the lines, ask what the installation charges will be and confirm it in writing. Then check the bill and compare it to the original price quote.Regardless of which long distance company you use, be sure your calls are billed in six second, rather than one minute, increments. You can save a lot of money especially if you make many short calls.
